It will be a battle of the outsiders when Swiss side Basel square off against Porto in the Champions League Round of 16 clash and the tie looks set to be an entertaining affair between two exciting teams.

Basel pulled off a major upset in the group stages of the Champions League by finishing ahead of European giants Liverpool.
Boss Paulo Sousa has done wonders with the Swiss side in leading the club into the knock out stages but given the Portuguese manager’s ambitious nature, he will be intent on creating further history by guiding Basel to the quarter finals of the competition for the first time since 1974.
Basel have been handed a tie against Portuguese giants Porto and although the fixture is most certainly very tough, it could have been a lot worse and Sousa will be quietly confident of pulling off another upset.
Fabian Schär will be missing for the clash on Wednesday night due to suspension while the likes of Adama Traoré and Ivan Ivanov are out with injury.

Porto were very impressive during the group stages after going unbeaten despite coming up against the likes of Shakhtar and Athletic Bilbao and their fine performance has meant that the Portuguese side will have to be considered one of the dark horses for the tournament.
However, the nature of the Champions League means that Porto’s good performance during the earlier rounds count for nothing and manager Julen Lopetegui will be well aware of the fact that his players will have to play to their best against a tricky Basel side on Wednesday night in order to achieve a result.
Porto do not have any injury concerns heading into the game but the duo of Iván Marcano and Maicon are only a booking away from a suspension.

While the match is a very difficult one to call, Porto should head into the game as slight favourites due to their superior squad as well as experience.
That said though, Basel have proven that they are a good side at home and a score draw could well be on the cards.
