It will be a battle of the champions as Greek giants Olympiakos welcome Spain’s Atletico Madrid to the Karaiskakis Stadium this Tuesday.

Olympiakos really do not face too much of a competition in their domestic league and it is the Champions League which provides the litmus test as to how far the club have progressed.
Under Spaniard Michel, the Greek side have done well but will now have to prove that they are not in Europe’s elite club competition just to make up the numbers by putting on a good show this season.
However, having been placed in a group consisting of Italian Champions Juventus and Spanish champions Atletico Madrid – it will be anything but straightforward for the Greek giants.
First up for Olympiakos is a clash against Atletico and Michel will certainly be hopeful of earning something out of the game if his side are to stand a chance of making it into the next round.
Giannis Maniatis looks set to miss the clash due to an ankle problem but on a positive note, Dimitris Siovas could make his long awaited return from injury.

There is no doubting that Atletico Madrid have become a major force in European football following their wonderful rise under the brilliant Diego Simeone.
Having broken the duopoly enjoyed by Barcelona and Real Madrid as well as sensationally reached the Champions League final last season, Atletico can lay claim to the fact that there are now three big clubs in Spain.
However, after lost a couple of key players over the summer, Atletico have been faced with a bit of a rebuilding job and to replicate their last season’s heroics would take something really special.
That being said, Simeone has assembled a very good squad once again and Atletico certainly look in good shape heading into their clash against Olympiakos in midweek.
Apart from Cristian Rodriguez, who is struggling with a calf problem, Simeone will be able to call on the services of his full complement of players for the clash.
Olympiakos vs Atletico Madrid Match Prediction
While both sides are currently in great form, Atletico head into the game as clear favourites due to their immense quality as well as experience.
The Madrid side have proven to be a wonderfully drilled outfit which is ruthless in front of goal as well and it will seemingly take a herculean effort from Olympiakos to get anything out of the game on Tuesday despite the Greek side playing in front of their own fans.
