bwin SUMMARY REVIEW

bwin is a relatively new as an entity in the gambling world. Formed in 2011 after a merger between Party Gaming plc and Bwin Interactive Entertainment AG, they are the world’s largest publicly traded online gambling firm. The Bwin side of affairs was founded in the year 1999 under the name of Simon Bold (Gibraltar) Ltd. ElectraWorks Limited runs the bwin side of the business. The company was taken over in its entirety in 2001 by the Vienna-based, publicly listed company bwin Interactive Entertainment AG. They offer up to 30,000 bets daily with betting action in more than 90 sports and in 18 different languages. They have a number of key partnership with Manchester United, Bayern Munich, Juventus, Anderlecht and Marseille all betting partners while they also sponsor Real Madrid. In addition to their football sponsorship they are also involved with Basketball and Moto GP.

bwin FREE BET SIGN UP BONUS OFFER

Rather surprisingly the boys at appear to have missed a beat with the SEO and google adwords campaign. Unlike other sports books reviewed where a quick google of their name produces a sponsored ad with a sign up offer bwin does not have this, in fact the sponsored adword above their name is the sign up of a rival. After signing up for an account we did not receive any notification or indication that offers were available and as such I cannot confirm at this point that they offer them. However from time to time bwin offers competitive sign up bonus offers for new registrations and for loyal customers.

bwin FREE BETTING BONUS PROMOTIONS

The promotion section of the bwin website is very clear and concise. They have a nice world cup offer on at present whereby they are giving away Free Bets worth EUR 100,000 in total. To take part in this promotion you must place a single or Multi bets on football with odds of at least 2.00. (Note – Live bets and system bets will not count) and depending on the stake you can win free bets of €20, €30 or €50 euro. They also have some generous money back offers for the World Cup. For the Brazil versus Croatia game they a quite simply brilliant offer whereby if you Back Brazil and if they fail to win, you will get up to EUR 50 back as a Free Bet. They also have many more offers around games.

bwin BETTING ODDS AND MARKETS

Given their status as one of the biggest bookmakers in the world the odds on offer at Bwin are very competitive, whilst they are not in the top range they are also not at the bottom. Their live in play betting odds keeps them in the upper echelons on the competitive ladder. Bwin themselves advise that they offer up to 30,000 bets daily with betting action in more than 90 sports and in 18 different languages and given options available on the site it is hard to dispute this.

bwin BETTING

As you would expect from a site that has a European focus and has major sponsorship deal with big football clubs the emphasis of the bwin site is aimed at football. That said, the poor horse racing offering aside [see next section] bwin does cover a lot of other sports. After football, tennis and basketball feature prominently and in all they offer 42 different sports.

bwin HORSE RACING BETTING

Horse Racing is not a major part of the bwin online offering. The focus is very much on football with the only horse racing offered being virtual racing. The company obviously feels that this is not a market that they are after at present and instead have focused their energy on ensuring that their football coverage is industry leading.

bwin LIVE STREAMING

bwin offers, in their own words “up to 1,000 live sports every month, up to 50 live events every day in 20 different sports”. In order to access this however you need to register and login however the focus is very much not on the UK and Ireland which is one of the countries along with Canada, Spain, Argentina, France, Italy, Mexico and Scandinavia that cannot access the content. bwin offers live football stream from Spanish La Liga , Italian Serie A , German Bundesliga among others. You should always refer to country restrictions though

bwin LIVE/IN-PLAY BETTING

BWIN offers a very comprehensive in-play betting service. To select in play betting chose the live betting module on the third top tab. The latest live event will appear along with the latest and complete in-play options. You have the time elapsed in the game, the latest score and you can also select the statistics relating to a game. They have a multi-view option too where you can see different games or sports side by side. The overview function shows the latest games live now and you can simply select the game you wish to get in-depth odds.

bwin CUSTOMER SUPPORT

On selecting the Bwin contact page the most apparent thing is that they want you to use as much of the resource they have before contacting them. They have FAQ section and a drop box with the nature of the query. One you select the nature of your query from the drop box, a sub-section opens up and the email contact form appears (they also have a relevant FAQ for each section and sub-section). The very bottom of the page they have phone numbers, postal address and fax for those that find self-help difficult. Rather interestingly there is no mention of a live chat support.

bwin TABLET BETTING , MOBILE BETS AND APPS (iOS, Android)

The Bwin mobile page is good. The page has a quick “how to guide” to save the page to your bookmarks and also have links for the android and iPhone app. As for the mobile experience itself, the layout is good, you can see the latest promotion at the top of the screen and in keeping with a responsive theme, always a bonus, and you can scroll down to see the latest live event, the sport offering and other gambling options available. Selecting the sports book option you are again offered the opportunity to get the app and select your bets by sport. They also have a SMS bet notification service telling you if your bet has been successful. New customers receive 3 free SMS bet notifications while white members get 5 per month and yellow members 10 per month.

bwin CONCLUSION

The bwin site is very flashy and impressive looking site. The Football selection on the Sportsbook is one of the best on the market while the promotions and in-play betting are impressive. The apparent lack of a sign up bonus, live chat help and the very limited horse racing offering does detract from the site but on an whole if its strong in-play betting and good football coverage you after then bwin is the site for you.
