However, they didn’t perform well in qualifiers and in friendlies after that – they won only one of their last five matches, the decisive game against Iceland in the play-offs. On the other hand, Brazil won 6 matches in a row, including a dominant display against reigning world champions Spain, and European vice-champions Italy, and they are a clear favourite to win this one.
